The Clackamas Soil and Water Conservation District is seeking qualified candidates for two WeedWise Program Specialist positions to help protect local and regional working lands and natural areas. Our goal is to create a high-quality job experience for a conservation-minded leader.

About the positions

The WeedWise Program Specialists are full-time, at-will positions that will assist with surveying and documenting priority invasive species, project planning and management, contacting landowners, and overseeing contracted weed control activities. The successful candidates will assist with WeedWise Program activities and initiatives as required.

The WeedWise Program Specialist- CWMA Coordinator is a permanent WeedWise position that serves as the coordinator for two Cooperative Weed Management Areas (CWMA) operating in the greater Portland metropolitan area (4-County CWMA) and in the Columbia River Gorge (Columbia Gorge CWMA) to support collaborative weed management partnerships. The CWMA Coordinator is responsible for the administration of each CWMA and will coordinate meetings, trainings, events, and outreach activities in addition to WeedWise program activities.

The WeedWise Program Specialist-Mt Hood is a 3-year TERM federally funded, WeedWise position that will help coordinate the implementation of WeedWise invasive weed management efforts on the Mt Hood National Forest in conjunction with planned infrastructure development projects following the Riverside fire.   This position will coordinate with other WeedWise and US Forest Service-Mt Hood National Forest personnel to implement management efforts within the project area.
